Born in Hawkes Bay, Paula Taaffe studied at Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland, N.Z and graduated with the New Zealand Fellowship of Artists Award in 1988.
Subsequently Taaffe lived and worked for 20 years in Canada and United States during which time she lectured in paint and animation and worked as a freelance illustrator.
Her painting and photography have been selected for a number of awards including Canada’s national touring exhibition ‘The Feminine Viewpoint’ and New Zealand’s Norsewear Exhibition. In 2010 she was the recipient of the Noske Skog Award, Molly Morpeth Canaday Exhibition.
Her works are held in private and corporate collections in Canada, United States, Switzerland and Germany.
Paula is currently on the faculty at ideaschool, EIT, Hawkes Bay.
